General questions
What is Shambavi Peetam?
Shambavi Peetam is a Sri Vidya spiritual centre at Kayarambedu, near Guduvancheri, Tamil Nadu. It is guided by Sri Sai Aascharyanandha and brings initiation, daily sadhana, satsang, sacred observances, the Maha Meru and shrine worship into one living Guru–Sishya tradition.
Is Shambavi Peetam a temple, an ashram or a course?
It is best understood as a Peetam: a living spiritual seat sustained through the Guru Parampara, tapas and worship. It has a physical centre and community activities, but its purpose is not limited to a building or a fixed-duration course.
What is Sri Vidya Sadhana?
Sri Vidya is a Devi-centred path that brings mantra, Sri Chakra worship, inner observation, disciplined practice and the guidance of the Guru together. Its deeper purpose is self-knowledge, the fulfilment of one’s dharma and union with Devi.
Who is the present Guru?
Sri Sai Aascharyanandha is the present Guru and Peetadhipati of Shambavi Peetam. He succeeded Sri Sai Pushyanandha and guides initiation, Sri Vidya practice, community worship and purpose-specific prayoga within the lineage.
Is the path open to everyone?
Shambavi Peetam receives sincere seekers irrespective of caste, creed or gender. Initiation opens the first practice; progression into deeper stages depends on discipline, understanding, practice and the Guru’s assessment of readiness.
Can a complete beginner attend?
Yes. You may begin by reading, joining Sunday satsang or entering the WhatsApp community. You do not need prior initiation to attend satsang or contact the Peetam.
Are spiritual or material results guaranteed?
No. The Peetam offers a traditional practice, guidance and community—not a guaranteed financial, medical or miraculous result. People experience practice differently, and spiritual support should not replace appropriate medical, legal or financial advice.
How can I visit or ask a question?
Contact the Peetam office before travelling so the appropriate visiting time can be confirmed. Call or WhatsApp +91 95663 77982, or email [email protected]. You do not need to know the correct spiritual term before asking.
Questions about initiation
Do I need initiation to practise Sri Vidya?
You may learn about Sri Vidya and attend open satsang before initiation. Initiation-dependent mantra and deeper practice should be received through the Guru rather than assembled from unrelated books, videos or websites.
What happens during Kadgamala initiation?
The four-hour sitting includes Ganapati sadhana, Pranava Kriya, Pancha Bhoota Shuddhi, inner Peeta Sthapana, Kadgamala initiation and guidance for the daily practice that follows.
Can initiation genuinely be received online?
Shambavi Peetam currently conducts the first Kadgamala initiation live on Microsoft Teams. It is a guided, real-time sitting with Guruji—not a recorded course. You prepare a clean, undisturbed space and remain present for the full session.
When is the initiation and what is the offering?
The current sitting is held every Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM IST. The offering is ₹3,000 per seeker and includes practice guidance and the daily sadhana sheet.
Do I need previous spiritual experience?
No previous Sri Vidya initiation is required. Come ready to listen, participate sincerely and continue the daily practice. If you have received another initiation or follow a specific discipline, tell the Peetam office before registering.
How should I prepare?
Wear red, choose a clean and quiet seat, join a few minutes early and keep the full four hours free from other commitments. The office sends the joining and preparation details after registration.
What happens after initiation?
Continue the daily sadhana, attend satsang when you can and bring genuine questions to the Peetam. Further stages are guided according to readiness, not sold as automatic upgrades.
Can I speak with the Peetam before registering?
Yes. Contact the Peetam office if you need practical clarity before choosing a Saturday. There is no pressure to register before you understand the commitment.
Questions about the Maha Meru
What is a Maha Meru?
The Maha Meru is the three-dimensional form of the Sri Chakra, central to the worship of Ma Lalitha Maha Tripurasundari. In a home it can become a sacred centre for daily attention, prayer and archana.
What is the difference between a Sri Chakra and a Maha Meru?
The Sri Chakra is commonly represented in a flat, two-dimensional form known as Bhu Prasthara. The Maha Meru expresses the sacred geometry in three dimensions and is worshipped in the Meru Prasthara tradition.
Is the Shambavi Peetam Maha Meru consecrated?
Yes. Each panchaloha Maha Meru is prepared and consecrated at Shambavi Peetam and personally blessed by Guruji on an auspicious tithi before despatch.
Do I need initiation before buying a Maha Meru?
No. You may receive the Maha Meru without first taking initiation. If you want a guided daily Sri Vidya practice, Kadgamala initiation is the clearer beginning and the Peetam can guide how the Meru belongs within it.
What is included with the Maha Meru?
It includes installation guidance, a daily pooja method in English and Tamil, a mantra sheet and a first-archana walkthrough over WhatsApp with the Peetam office.
Where should the Maha Meru be kept?
Keep it in a clean, respected and stable place used for prayer. The supplied installation guidance explains the practical beginning, and the Peetam can answer questions before the first archana.
How is the Maha Meru despatched?
Orders are despatched across India after the Peetam office confirms the practical details and consecration process.
Does the Maha Meru guarantee prosperity or protection?
No material or personal outcome is guaranteed. The Maha Meru is offered as a consecrated support for sincere worship, attention and daily discipline.
